Protect Yourself with Professional Liability Insurance

Any agency or independent contractor that improperly performs services can cause a client to suffer economic loss. As a translator or interpreter, you can be held legally responsible for damages suffered by your client, as a result of your professional services or failing to meet the level performance warranted or represented by you.

No one wants to think that the services they offer on a daily basis could eventually result in a claim for negligent business practices. But like it or not, the Translating / Interpreting industry, like any other business that deals with the public, are subject to complaints from dissatisfied customers. That is why ATA sponsors a plan of professional liability insurance called Errors & Omissions (E&O) Coverage.

The ATA E&O Plan coverage protects you against claims alleging errors, omissions, and/or negligent acts arising out of your professional services. This type of coverage is NOT typically covered under commercial liability or general liability policies.

The ATA insurance Plan is administered by Hays Affinity, a division of Hays Companies and is underwritten by Lloyd's of London.
